Every country usually has its own “taste” when they choose one or other portable device. However, in South Korea, the native ...

Product Description

The long suit of the Nook is its E Ink display. With it, you get defined and dark text, while the background color is a little whiter than that of other e-Readers. The pictures in books are very detailed and use sixteen shades of gray.

The Nook has 3 font types and 5 adjustable font sizes. The font types are Light Classic, Amasis and Helvetica Neue, the first two are serif fonts, while the last is sans serif. The Nook is one of the few e-Readers that allow you to change the font type.

From AT&T's 3G network the Nook also has free wireless service, with the help of which you can download books from Barnes and Noble's online e-book store. The device also has a built-in Wi-Fi that lets you connect to the public network or your home network. There’s also free Wi-Fi at Barnes and Noble retail shops.

By default the 3G includes all the contracts, fees and wireless service.

However, unlike Kindle, there is no web browser for web-surfing in the Nook, which can only connect to the Barnes and Noble's online shop. Of course, some people install hacks.

Barnes and Noble claims to have an over 1,000 000-book library. However, simple calculations prove that the figure is something about 117,000, while the rest are usually available from different sources and they are free.

The pages on the Nook load much faster than on Sony's 'Daily Edition' , but the filters and search options are more limited. There are some sub-categories but you can’t sort the books yourself – it’s just by default, by relevancy.

The Nook is very easy for browsing books if you choose to show the covers of the books on the LCD screen. Just scan through them quickly – the pages turn automatically.
