Latest Generation Kindle Update: Preview of Ver. 3.0.3
The Amazon Company are developing a software update for their latest Kindle 6" device and feedback is very welcome. This is why an early preview of the update has been released. The update consists of general improvements in the device performance, and if you want to try out the early release and share your feedback, you can follow the link below to download the Kindle update file. In the next several weeks the update will be also available wireless.

Below are the instructions how to download the Kindle update software and install it on your device via USB:
- Check with software version you have: Open Home, then Menu and Settings. At the bottom of the screen you’ll be able to see the version of your Kindle. If it says “Version Kindle 3.0.2” or earlier, such as 3.0.1, or 3.0, proceed with the steps given below and update your device to the latest software.
- Download the software:Follow the appropriate link below to download the Kindle 2.5 software update to your computer directly.
- Transmit the software to your Kindle device:Switch on your Amazon Company are developing a software update for their latest Kindle device, then connect it to the computer with the USB cable. Drag the update file from the computer and drop it in the Kindle drive (you will find several folders in the drive, such as “music”, “documents” and “audible”. The drive normally has a “device” icon).
- Ensure the file transfer, then disconnect: Make sure that the update file has transferred to the Kindle before disconnecting the device from the computer. After the successful transfer eject the device to disconnect it safely. Take the USB cable out of the Kindle and of the computer.
- Start the Update:Go the Home screen, open the Menu and then “Settings”. Then press the Menu key once again to select the “Update Your Kindle” option (if the latest available update has already been installed, this option will be in the grey color). If you want to update your Kindle software, select “Ok”. During the update your Kindlw will restart twice, and there will be the message “Your Kindle is Updating” after it restarts for the first time.
- When the update is completed, your Kindle device will restart automatically for the second time. If you check the Settings page, at the bottom of the screen you will see Version: Kindle 3.0.3. In this case you can be sure that the Kindle update is completed.
