The Intel company is going to show itself as the biggest supplier of system boards and CPUs for tablet computers on the basis of Windows 8 from Microsoft.

At the moment  the chip maker plans to launch series manufacture of Clover Trail platforms with CPU Atom Z2760 that is to feature numerous good characteristics, such as first of all, two cores instead of one, possibility to improve its performance and, finally, supporting Hyper Threading function that is presented in Intel CPUs only.As workers of Intel say, there are to be assembled two types of tablets on its platform – one with a 10 inches display, other with the 11 inches one.

Both types are to feature a QWERTY keyboard, most probably removable. There are no details about it. Tablet computers with the Intel Clover Trail platform are to boast minimum of nine hours of working without recharging. At least, Intel itself states the same, so all that remains is to wait for results of independent tests.

The x86 tablet with preinstalled Windows 8 is to weight no more than 1,5 kg, its body thickness is to be no more than 9 mm. Meanwhile, the essential condition is availability of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and NFC, as well of options such as supporting of cellular networks of the third and fourth generations. Microsoft has its own requirements to Windows 8 tablets, such as minimum of five hard keys (on\off, forced shutting down of display rotate function, Windows key and volume regulator), as well the Bluetooth 4.0 module, a HD web camera and all standard sensors presented in modern models of “palm” devices.

Also we remind that Microsoft is working on separate version of Windows 8 that is for ARM tablets.

In the patent Apple has recently acquired there has been described the wireless headset connected by means of the Bluetooth protocol. Moreover, it may have the embedded mp3 player. The image attached to the patent application, demonstrates the headset that looks like a device that Apple launched in 2007 but afterward took out of production.

The embedded player available means availability of both an embedded memory and audio processor, therefore, the device supports many options, for example, recording telephone conversation and transmitting the file to the mobile phone. According to this document it may be assumed that Apple is going to return to the market of wireless headsets and be there under its own brand with their own point of view.

The headset with mp3 player certainly would be the successful product, since it may be used both as connected and autonomous device. Although, launching such a plaything from Apple might adversely affect iPod brand players in the lower price segment. Besides speakers there is microphone as well that allows to regulate volume automatically depending on exterior noise level. Finally, this headset is to help use extended functions of the Siri brand voice assistant.

There are tablet computers of budget class going to become one of the most important trend in the electronics  market  this year, and Apple as the leader of this the market is not to stand aside. The company has been still denying working on such a project. Thus, all that remains is to admire concepts of this device, the designer Federico Ciccarese represented the new work.

As numerous rumors say, iPad Mini features a modest 7,85 inches display, but otherwise the device is the exact copy of the original full-size iPad. The size difference was well showed by the author as he compared it with  iPad and iPhone. It may be said, that iPad Mini is a third of iPad and three times bigger than iPhone 4S, so it has quite comfortable sizes for a tablet computer.

The author doesn’t define technical characteristics of iPad Mini, however, we may conjecture them by analogy. The display size is 7,85 inches, but there is not to be attained pixels density that of Retina Display at such the price. Therefore, the resolution of the display is 1024x768. The panel consumes less energy, so the slim storage battery may be working up to 10 hours. It sounds not bad especially since the recommended price of the tablet is about 300 $. Thus, such an offer from Apple may compromise existence of the traditional 10 inches segment.
